WHAT TO EXPECT
Please arrive for your sauna session clean, hydrated and ready to sweat! The sauna will be preheated to an average temperature of 135-150 Fahrenheit, you may request a lower/higher temperature when reserving your session. You will be shown into the private Sauna Sanctuary and the restroom. Most people undress completely while in the sauna, you will be able to choose the chromotherapy light color that you would like or turn the light off for deeper relaxation. Some people take their phone into the sauna with them, or play a podcast or other audio program from their phone just outside the sauna door. Alexa is also available for your musical whims. Please note, your iPhone may get too hot and need to be set outside the sauna after 30 minutes if you decide to take it inside.
The sanctuary will be reserved for 60 minutes, most people stay in the sauna 40-45 minutes. We encourage taking breaks for water and to cool off if you notice a significant increase in your heart rate.
You will have total privacy in the sauna sanctuary and will be supplied with plenty of water and towels including a chilled face towel to refresh afterward.. Most people wear loose fitting clothes knowing that they will be hot and sweaty after their session.
Saunas are NOT appropriate for people with heart conditions, high blood pressure, low blood pressure or pacemakers.
PREPARATION
Please do not eat anything for at least an hour before, and avoid alcohol prior to your sauna session. You are more likely to feel uncomfortable sitting in a sauna with a full stomach. Choosing to take a hot shower or bath poor to the sauna session will further promote respiration.
Please do not wear fragrance or cologne while in the sauna.
It is essential to drink plenty of water, before, during and after a session. Doing so will replenish fluids lost during perspiration. Coconut water and lemon water are a great way to replenish electrolytes after a session.
Many find it beneficial to take a sauna at the first sign of cold or flu, as it may have an immune boosting effect and decrease the reproduction rate of viruses.
